Benefit supporters thanked
Everyone knows that it's impossible to choose when to face misfortune. Luckily, here in Homer it's possible to set a date and time to reverse that misfortune.

Our entire community showed its generosity once again at 5 p.m. on Dec. 8 when it made "Tie One On For Martie Krohn" a success, despite numerous events competing for attention at the same time.

Thanks to Alice's Champagne Palace and Fat Rack for allowing us to overrun the place, Too Fat To "Tie" for the marvelous music (and letting us change their name), Gary Thomas for inimitable auctioneering, and all of the businesses and individuals who donated time, energy and auction items.

Still more thanks to everyone who showed up, bought a tie, ate Thai food and waved their dollars in the air all night long. It was such a pleasure to gather with all of you to show Martie how much we care.

Carolyn Norton, for Friends of Martie Krohn
