Stabbing report proves false

A report of a stabbing and a possible assailant on the loose in the Bear Creek Drive area last Thursday afternoon proved false. No one was stabbed and an assault did not happen, said Alaska State Trooper David Sherbahn of the Anchor Point Post.

A woman had made a 911 call from a cell phone that she was stabbed, but upon investigation, troopers determined the woman was intoxicated and confused. Because the woman called from a cell phone, troopers had to search the area to find her. Homer Police also helped search for the woman. Emergency medical technicians took the woman to South Peninsula Hospital for evaluation.
