Divas outscored; co-ed teams play for championship

Homer Women's Hockey had a big weekend. The intermediate team traveled to the Palmer Ice Arena for its first tournament of the year. Homer was outscored in three of their games, but played with heart and hustle.

Most Valuable Players were Michelle Hatton (G), Jessie Dullinger, Suz Parrish and Sue Rennolds. Hatton blocked more than 50 shots and even played for another team when their goalie was injured.

The novice team took on the Alaska Ambush from Soldotna, losing 5-1. Saundra "Sandra D" Hudson scoring the only Diva goal. This brings the Homer Divas record to 3-1 against the Alaska Ambush. The Divas will have a rematch this Friday at 7:15 p.m. at the Kevin Bell Arena.
