Carrie Anne (Lyon) Kessock, 37, died on or around Sept. 2, 2010, in Las Vegas, Nev. She was born in Evansville, Ind., on July 29, 1973. She lived with her mother, Terri, in Eagle River when she was 2 years old in 1975. She moved to Homer with her mother and new father, Gary Lyon, in 1978. She spent her remaining childhood in Homer, moving back to Anchorage while in the 11th grade, in 1987.

She married Albert Kessock in 1991 and bore a daughter, Kaitlyn Lee Kessock. The family moved to Las Vegas in 1993 and Carrie then spent most of her adult life there. She had another daughter in 2003, Alexis Jaden Wilkins.

Most people who knew Carrie Anne as a child remember an extremely bright, outgoing and precocious girl with a very active imagination. She was an early reader who read and loved books her entire life. She was chosen for the Gifted and Talented Program at Paul Banks School. She wrote short stories and poems. She was athletic and later excelled as a sprint runner at Homer High.

As an adult, Carrie Anne held some interesting and challenging jobs. She was a personal security guard for various rock bands, a bounty hunter and also secured bail bonds. She was attracted to and loved the glamour and excitement of life in Las Vegas.

Carrie Anne is survived by her daughters, Kaitlyn Lee Kessock and Alexis Jaden Wilkins; her parents, Gary and Terri Lyon; her brother Thomas Lyon; her grandfather Arthur Conner; and many aunts, uncles and cousins in Alaska and outside.

A memorial service for Carrie Anne will be held at the Homer United Methodist Church at 770 East End Road in Homer at 1 p.m. Dec. 11. All who knew Carrie Anne are welcome and encouraged to attend.
