If the chamber board chooses to disregard their own policies on sensitive issues that divide the business community for short-term expediency that's their call. Board members resigned because the chamber leadership chose mob rules rather than reasoned policy, not because they disagreed with one issue concerning a management plan for charter halibut.
The chamber leaders overcame their obstacles and got a win for a highly motivated group within their organization. They wrote a letter. Now Mr. Davis at the chamber wants us to forget recent history, and he wants public money to promote economic development for everyone. Councilman Hogan is right. He is representing his constituents who are skeptical of the chamber's role in our community.
