Kachemak Bay Family Planning Clinic needs volunteers to help set up its annual AIDS Awareness Ball, to be held starting at 8 p.m. Dec. 15. The clinic also wants to borrow "safari theme" props. Tickets to the ball are $20 advance for members, $25 in advance for nonmembers and $30 at the door. To help, call 235-7748.

The Pratt Museum has extended its cash raffle drawing through Dec. 6. Tickets are $100 and offer a chance to win a grand prize of $10,000 for the last ticket drawn of 350 tickets. There are also prizes for $250 and $500. The drawing is at 7 p.m. Friday, the opening evening of the Festival of Gingerbread. All proceeds support the museum. Call 235-8635.

The U.S. Postal Service can mark letters with a postmark from North Pole, Alaska. Address and affix stamps to the letters to be mailed, then mail the letters in a larger package to North Pole Christmas Cancellation, Postmaster, 5400 Mail Trail, Fairbanks 99709-9999. Do not send empty envelopes. Letters from Santa Claus can also be postmarked from North Pole by sending a stamped and addressed letter to the same address. Requests for North Pole cancellation should arrive by Dec. 15.

Lucas Rowley received June 1, 2002, a Bachelor of Arts in arts from Fort Lewis College, Durango, Colo.

The following students have successfully completed the Certified Nurses Assistant program at the Kachemak Bay Campus, Kenai Peninsula College, held in coordination with South Peninsula Hospital: Jamie Allison, Mary Baker, Joan Coppess, Cynthia Micheski, Jessica Nelson, Kelli Parker, Angela Pinkerton and LaShella Powell.
