The South Peninsula Hospital Service Area Board holds its regular meeting at 6 p.m. in the hospital conference room.

Homer Companion Loss Support Group meets from 5-6:30 p.m. at the Community Resource Center, 182 E. Pioneer Ave. Call 235-8969 or 235-6583.

Homer Youth for Environmental Action, the Kachemak Bay Conservation Society and Vessels for Hope sponsor "Recycling! Making it Happen in Homer" starting at 7 p.m. at Homer City Hall.

Kachemak Bay Advisory Planning Commission meets at 7 p.m. at the Kachemak Community Center.

Friday, Dec. 6

Captain's Coffee and Roasting Company is the host of this month's Homer Chamber of Commerce mixer from 6-8 p.m. at its new location on Pioneer Avenue. Chamber mixers are for members or those interested in joining the chamber. Call 235-7740.

Saturday, Dec. 7

Kindness Without Borders holds a few moments of silence at 10:15 a.m. at WKFL Park.

Sunday, Dec. 8

Laurel Epps presents "What's So Amazing about Grace?" about the grace of forgiveness, at the 12:30 p.m. meeting of the Unitarian/Universalists at the Kachemak Center.

A reception for Ms. Senior Alaska, Jimmie Grace Van Vacter, is from 2-4 p.m., at the Miller home, 4233 Kachemak Way.

"Tie One On for Martie Krohn," a fund-raiser, is 5 p.m. at Alice's Champagne Palace, with Thai food, a balloon auction and music by Too Fat to Fly.

Monday, Dec. 9

The Public Health nurse visits Nikolaevsk School from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Call 235-8857.

City Council Committee of the Whole meets at 4 p.m. followed by the regular meeting at 7:30 p.m. at Homer City Hall.

Homer Middle School holds a Scholastic Book Fair and fund-raiser for the library during school hours at the library. The school has compiled wish lists of books for the library and seeks donations of new or slightly used books.

Tuesday, Dec. 10

Homer Animal Friends meets at 5:30 p.m. at Homer City Hall.

Share the Spirit's annual Spaghetti Feed is 11 a.m.-7 p.m. at the Homer Elks Club. Dinner is $6 or six cans of food. To-go orders welcome.
