Ski club meets this evening

Kachemak Ski Club will hold its annual meeting at 5:30 p.m. today at the Kachemak Conservation Center, 3734 Ben Walters Lane. The meeting is open to all; there will be pizza and drinks.

Divas win over Soldotna

The Divas, Homer's women's hockey team beat Alaska Ambush from Soldotna last week. The final score was 4 to 5, with the Divas winning by a goal scored by Ori Badajos in the last minute of the game. Badajos was also high scorer for the game with a "hat trick" (three goals in one game).

In Homer's co-ed league, Team T&J suffered its first defeat of the season to White Thrash in a 5-4 game. Andrea Stineff scored the winning goal.

The Black Holes won against Green Eggs and Slam in a 4-to-1 defeat. The Weston and Lowe couples were the key players.

Cycling club seeks logo art

The Homer Cycling Club seeks logo art for its winter Big Fat Bike Festival. Send submissions no later than Saturday to Bjørn Olson, P.O. Box 327, Homer AK, 99603. The winner will be decided at the club's meeting on Dec. 7. For more information contact Olson at fatbikebjorn@gmail.com.

Soldotna hockey tops Homer

The Mariner Hockey Team play teams from the Valley today, Friday and Saturday, after falling to the Soldotna Stars 6-0 Nov. 23 in Northstar Conference action.

Games against Colony take place at 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. today. On Friday, the JV hockey team plays Wasilla at 5:30 p.m., followed by the varsity game at 7:30 p.m. On Saturday, the JV team plays Palmer at 10:30 a.m., followed by varsity play at 12:30 p.m. All games are in Homer.

In last week's game Cody Harvey blanked the Mariners with 22 saves. Alex Sanarov had 34 saves for the Mariners.
