Betty is such a love. This 8-year-old girl is declawed, a little bit shy, but soon warms up. She loves to sit in your lap, have her head rubbed, nibble a fishy treat and think, "And oh, shall we gaze long and deep into each other's eyes."

To adopt a pet, call or stop by the animal shelter across from Public Works off the Sterling Highway. The shelter is open Tuesday through Saturday, noon-5 p.m. Call 235-3141 for information.
