Seafood workers needed

Through December, seafood processing companies are recruiting for more than 300 Alaska workers needed for the winter seafood season, which includes Pollock, opilio crab and Pacific cod. Processing is expected to begin in early January at shore-based plants and on large at-sea processing ships, according to the Alaska Department of Labor and Workforce Development. Work will continue through mid-March or mid-May or longer. In-person interviews will be held Dec. 3-19. Successful applicants must pass a pre-employment physical, drug screening and criminal background check for some jobs.
