Hoops tourney rained out

The fund-raising Play Like Crazy women's basketball tournament, a benefit put on by the Homer High School girls basketball team, was cancelled because of fears of road closures.

Several of the six teams participating in the two-day tournament departed on Saturday amid fears that rising floodwaters would cut Homer off from the rest of the road system, according to Homer girls head coach Mark Mahan.
