The Alcoholics Anonymous 9 a.m. breakfast club meeting is every Saturday at New Life Tabernacle Church, the blue church uphill from Fritz Creek Store on East End Road. Bring something to eat. For information, call Clint, 235-7120.

November is Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month. If you'd like to help with awareness at the local level in November, please contact Kelly Cooper at 226-2110. Also, if pancreatic cancer has touched you or someone you love and you would like more information, call the same number for informational material.

Entries for the 20th Annual Writers Contest must be registered on www.homerart.org and delivered to HCOA by Nov. 30 at 5 p.m. Homer Council on the Arts is recruiting board members, committee members and volunteers to be involved with supporting the arts in Homer. Please call 235-4288.

There will be a free Thanksgiving Community Meal at the Refuge Chapel 397 East Pioneer Ave. at 2 p.m. Nov. 24.

The Christian Science Society, located at 3774 Bartlett St., will hold a Thanksgiving Day service at 11 a.m. Nov. 24. Hymns, prayer and readings from the King James Bible and correlative passages from Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures written by Mary Baker Eddy comprise the service. Time will be set aside for sharing testimonies and expressions of gratitude. All are welcome to this hour-long service.

The Kenai Peninsula Fair is hosting a Christmas Craft Bazaar on Dec. 3 at the Ninilchik Fairgrounds, Mile 136.1 Sterling Highway. The doors open at 10 a.m. and remain open until 4 p.m. More than 30 crafters are signed up with lots of great gift ideas for the holidays. Show your support for Share the Spirit by attending a special showing of the holiday classic "A Christmas Story" at 6 p.m. Dec. 1 at the Homer Theatre. The entrance fee is three canned goods or regular theatre fees. This event is sponsored by the Homer High School Natural Helpers.

The Center for Alaskan Coastal Studies is running a snowshoe rental program. This program is free to members, or rent five and get the sixth rental free for all others. Call 235-6667 for more information.
