Information about fire, police and troopers is taken from public records consisting of logbooks and press releases.

Nov. 11

Troopers received reports that someone broke into three vehicles near East End Road the night of Nov. 11 and took tools and other items. Two vehicles were parked on Thurston Drive and one on Greenwood Road. Anyone who has information on this incident or saw something suspicious is asked to call the Homer troopers at 235-8239.

Nov. 12

Troopers at 1:09 a.m. received a report of a domestic disturbance at a Clayton Way home. They allege that a 44-year-old Homer man assaulted his wife by placing her in fear of physical injury with a firearm and tried to prevent her from reporting the incident. Troopers arrested the man for third-degree assault, domestic violence and interfering with a report of domestic violence.

Nov. 14

Troopers at 6:14 p.m. went to a vehicle accident near Mile 131 Sterling Highway at Ninilchik. They allege a 25-year-old Anchor Point man driving south in a 1997 Ford truck tried to pass another vehicle and struck a northbound 1998 Dodge truck driven by a 50-year-old Homer man. Everyone involved wore seat belts, and no injuries were reported. Troopers cited the Anchor Point man for not taking due care to avoid a collision.

Nov. 15

Troopers at 3:46 p.m. received a report of a vehicle accident near Mile 146 Sterling Highway at Ninilchik. They allege a 42-year-old Ninilchik woman driving south in a 2000 Ford pickup lost control, slid into the oncoming lane and struck a 1999 Dodge pickup driven by a 72-year-old Homer man. Everyone involved wore seat belts, and no injuries were reported. Troopers cited the woman for speeding.

Nov. 17

Troopers at 8:30 a.m. received a report of a computerized instrument cluster worth about $3,500 taken from a Caterpillar backhoe at Mile 163 Sterling Highway sometime between 6 p.m. Nov. 16 and 8 a.m. Nov. 17. Homer troopers ask anyone with information regarding this incident to call them at 235-8239.
