VFW Post 10221 plans Thanksgiving dinner

Brrrrr is the word for the week. I hope all of our community has done all its preparation for our upcoming winter months. It has started out to be a cold one. Soon we will be seeing bright lights lighting up homes and yards. It is something I always look forward to seeing.

Next week brings us a holiday Thanksgiving. For those of you who are traveling to be with family and friends, may your travels be safe. There are many businesses that are having free turkey dinners, so don't be alone on the holiday. Go out for a good meal and enjoy the people around you.

Have a great weekend and be safe.

Anchor Point Senior Center

Tonight's dinner will be meatloaf. The salad bar opens at 5:30 p.m., and dinner will be served at 6 p.m.

Our community breakfast will be Sunday from 9 a.m. to noon. The center will be closed on Nov. 26 and 27. There will still be bingo on Nov. 27. Doors open at 6 p.m.; bingo is at 7 p.m.

The center is now a pick-up location for Full Circle Farms organic produce. Check out the Web site at: www.fullcirclefarm.com.

Donations of nonperishable items for the VFW Thanksgiving baskets can be put in the big blue barrel at the senior center.

Helping Hands

Helping Hands is open Wednesday and Saturday from 11 a.m.-3 p.m.

VFW Post 10221

The post's Thanksgiving dinner on Nov. 26 will be at 3 p.m., not 2 p.m. as previously announced.

Monday night is taco night from 5-7 p.m. Friday night is burger and brew from 5-8 p.m. Steak night will be Saturday from 6-8 p.m.; karaoke will follow at 9 p.m. The post's monthly fish fry will be from 4-6 p.m. Nov. 29. Members and guests are welcome.
