Farm bureau says thanks

The Alaska Farm Bureau would like to thank the Homer business community for their generous donations to our scholarship fundraiser auction held last weekend at Land's End Resort. We raised more than $2,600, which will fund one scholarship in an agriculture or natural resources program.

We would like to thank Cookie's Country Greenhouse, the Kachemak Gear Shed, McNeil Canyon Meats, Bear Creek Winery, Save U More, Ulmer's Drug & Hardware, Sweet Berries Jams, Homer Brewing Company, Nomar, the Wagon Wheel, Napa Auto Parts, and the Homer Chamber of Commerce.

We also would like to thank Katie Matthews and the Trail Blazers 4-H Club for generously volunteering their time to keep things running smoothly at our Friday Forum; and thank you to Michael Armstrong of the Homer News for donating copies of the newspaper with his High Tunnel article for us to give away; and thank you to the staff of Land's End Resort for making it so easy to host our annual statewide gathering in Homer for the first time ever. The event was wildly successful because of all of you.

Jan Flora, president

Kenai Peninsula Farm Bureau Chapter
