By that Friday afternoon, we found out that some men from the Russian village got together and built a beautiful footbridge from one side of the riverbank to the other. For us it was a miracle, now we could at least walk in and out. Words cannot express our heartfelt thanks for what they did. I don't know who you all are, but we are so grateful for that bridge.
I also want to thank some very dear friends. Skip and Yo for feeding us for several days because our supplies were low. Also for our guardian angels Jeff and Toni, who drove all the way from Anchor Point to not only bring us supplies but to take us back and forth to work. You all are the best.
There is one more group of people I want to thank. From the bottom of my heat I thank the state DOT and Raymond Drake and his crew. What fantastic people they all are. They worked their hearts out to build us a road across the missing bridge. They worked through rain and winds every day.
Each night when we arrived back to walk across the footbridge, they were there with big smiles and reassuring words of having the new road finished soon. In fact they apologized for not having it done sooner. They even left us bright lights run on a generator so that we wouldn't have to walk across the river in the dark.
On Nov. 1 we were able to drive across a one-lane dirt road. Within a week we were back up and running. I just want to tell all of you who have been so kind and helpful thank you and may the Good Lord bless you.
