The November Chamber Mixer will be held Friday from 5:30-7:30 p.m. This mixer is co-hosted by Main Street Mercantile and NOMAR Canvas Products. Guests will enjoy tours of both establishments. Refreshments, door prizes and demonstrations will also be available. Chamber mixers are open to Homer Chamber of Commerce members and those interested in joining the chamber. B and B to offer winter rates
Whalesong Bed and Breakfast announced recently that it would remain open through the winter, offering special off-season rates. Owner Carole Hamik will offer rooms for $68 per night at her location near downtown, close to the high school, in-town restaurants and the museum, library and art gallery row.
Open for nine summers, this is the first year Whalesong will remain open year round. Whalesong is a member of Homer's Finest Bed and Breakfast Network, Homer Chamber of Commerce, Homer Bed and Breakfast Association and Alaska Visitors Association. Kevin Dee offers consulting services to Homer residents, specializing in leadership development, organizational development, management coaching, mediation and change management.
Dee holds a master's degree in education from Vanderbilt University, with an emphasis in administration. Prior to starting his own management and consulting business, Dee held a variety of leadership positions in business, education and health care. In his own 20-year management consulting practice, he has conducted training workshops throughout the U.S. and internationally, in both traditional and wilderness settings.
Dee also has facilitated strategic planning and company-wide reorganizational projects for both small and large-scale organizations. In these efforts, Dee's emphasis always is on creating successful, measurable results.
