Nikolaevsk School holds its fall carnival from 6-8 p.m. in the Warrior Gym at the school. The theme is a Hawaiian luau, with games for young and old. Call 235-8972.

Vessels of Hope presents "The Crystal Ball Project," a look at Homer in 2025, from 7-9 p.m. at the Community Resource Center, 182 E. Pioneer Ave. Paul McCollum facilitates the discussion of "what we want for the future of our community and how we can shape it." Call 235-6642.

Friday, Nov. 15

Main Street Mercantile and Nomar are the hosts of this month's Homer Chamber of Commerce mixer from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at its store on Pioneer Avenue. Chamber mixers are open for chamber members or those interested in joining the chamber. Call 235-7740.

The Peace Feather presents "The Heart of Healing," a slide show and talk by Jodi Miller on her experiences using holistic healing in Peru and the high Andes with the Quechua people, at 7 p.m. at the Homer Council on the Arts. Refreshments will be served; donation appreciated. Call 235-7599.

Saturday, Nov. 16

Homer's 27th annual Nonprofit Community Christmas Bazaar is 10 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Homer Middle School multipurpose room. Call 235-7868.

Monday, Nov. 18

The city council holds a budget work session at 6 p.m. followed by a special meeting (if needed) at 7 p.m. at Homer City Hall.

Tuesday, Nov. 19

A neighborhood meeting for the Hillside Acres Water and Sewer Improvement District starts at 7 p.m. at Homer City Hall.

The Homer Foundation board of trustees holds its annual meeting at 6 p.m. at Land's End Resort in the Harbor Room. The agenda includes presentation of the annual report, election of trustees and officers, reports from committees and comments from the audience. A no-host dinner with the board follows; reservations required. Call 235-0541.

Wednesday, Nov. 20

Library Advisory Board Building Committee meets at 6 p.m. at the library.

Planning Commission holds a work session at 6 p.m. followed by the regular meeting at 7 p.m. at Homer City Hall.

Port/Harbor Commission meets at 7 p.m. at Homer City Hall.
