Oct. 31

A man at 12:08 p.m. made a 911 call that a woman driving on the Sterling Highway appeared disoriented. Police contacted the woman and determined she was OK and just tired.

A boy at 3:15 p.m. turned in cash he found on the side of the road on Bartlett Street.

A caller at 5:56 p.m. asked that a person be removed from a motel room. Police responded and both parties left the area.

Police at 6:19 p.m. did a safety check for Halloween activity on Mountainview Avenue.

A man at 8:36 p.m. reported two drunk men at a Pioneer Avenue business.

A man at 9:56 p.m. reported white boards in the road near Mile 170 Sterling Highway. Police found plank siding scattered from the Baycrest Hill pullout down to Heath Street. Police found the driver of the truck that had scattered the material and warned the driver for failure to secure load.

A cab driver at 11:50 p.m. reported a drunk man refused to get out of her cab and argued about the fare. Police responded.

Nov. 1

A man at 12:05 a.m. reported his daughter called him and said her boyfriend assaulted her and kicked her out of the house.

A man at 12:50 a.m. reported a drunk man just left a Main Street address in a dark green pickup truck. Police couldn't find the drunk driver.

A man at 1:41 p.m. reported having trouble getting jewelry back from a local business. Police advised the man on his options.

A woman at 1:45 p.m. reported a man refused to leave a Main Street apartment. The man later left.

A woman at 5:52 p.m. reported a man driving an ATV on the road and bike trail along East End Road.

Nov. 2

A woman at 10:44 a.m. reported a stray dog in the Herndon Drive area. Police notified the animal control officer.

A man at 11:27 a.m. reported his dog was hit by a driver who did not stop.

A woman at 1:08 p.m. reported a man going door to door asking to clean carpets in the Kachemak Drive area. She said she thought the man appeared suspicious.

Police at 12:30 p.m. did a check of a public demonstration at WKFL Park.

A caller at 2:45 p.m. reported a male student possibly in possession of a gun. Police contacted the boy and did not find weapons.

A man at 3:42 p.m. reported fraudulent charges on his debit card.

Police at 4:46 p.m. contacted a man filling sand bags at the Alaska Department of Transportation & Public Facilities sand pile on Kachemak Drive.

A caller at 5:15 p.m. reported a stray, large black dog in the hospital parking lot.

A man at 6:29 p.m. turned in a switchblade knife he found.

A man at 11:46 p.m. reported an unknown person walked into a Mattox Street home. The person left when asked.

Nov. 3

Alaska State Troopers at 3:37 a.m. reported a vehicle in the ditch off East End Road and asked police to meet EMTs at the scene. Police arrested a 34-year-old man for driving under the influence.

A man at 12:01 p.m. reported his wife changed the locks on their home and his work place. Police gave the man his options.

An employee at 1:35 p.m. reported a woman shoplifting at a Lake Street business.

Police at 8:26 p.m. seized a small amount of marijuana during a car search.

Nov. 4

A caller at 2:23 a.m. reported people acting suspiciously on the Homer Spit.

A woman at 11:46 a.m. reported her daughter was being harassed.

A caller at 2 p.m. reported someone took money from a collection box.

A woman at 7:33 p.m. reported she hit a car on Lake Street and the driver of the other car took off.

Police at 10:23 p.m. made a traffic stop on a pickup truck near Mile 3 Skyline Drive. Police arrested a passenger, a 46-year-old man, on an outstanding warrant, and cited him for sixth-degree misconduct involving a controlled substance.

Nov. 5

A woman at 12:36 p.m. reported the driver of a red dump truck used Jake brakes in a prohibited area on East End Road near Meadow Lane. Police contacted the drivers and advised them not to use Jake brakes.

A man at 6:08 p.m. reported a man going door-to-door selling carpet cleaning in the Sprucewood Avenue area.

A caller at 11:45 p.m. reported hearing gunshots or fireworks in downtown Homer

Nov. 6

A man at 12:06 p.m. reported he lost his coat with several items in the pockets.

A man at 6:12 p.m. reported his wife heard someone outside her window in the Triton Court area.

An off-duty police officer at 7:15 p.m. reported a vehicle had rolled over and was in the ditch off Diamond Ridge Road near Belnap Street.
