Pratt Museum

New winter hours are noon-5 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday.

Pratt Playdate is Friday, 10-11 a.m. at the Marine Gallery. This free family event features hands-on activities designed for babies and toddlers.

"History in the Making: Quilts, Quilters and Their Stories" is an exhibition of quilts by individual quilters that reflect our rich history and personal connection to the Kachemak Bay region. The exhibit opens with a reception on Friday from 5-7 p.m. and remains on display through Dec. 30.

In conjunction with the special quilt exhibit, the museum will present a special, two-fold event Nov. 30. Beginning at 5 p.m., the museum will host a special showing of quilts from the Pratt Museum's collections. Visitors will have a chance to see several quilts not normally on exhibit. Following the collections showing, the museum will host a screening of "The Great American Quilt Revival," narrated by Georgia Bonesteel. This film is the story of how quilts came to be recognized as works of art and how the craft of quilting has exploded into popular culture. This is a free event.
