CACS says thanks
As our season of outdoor environmental education programs draws to a close, we have some big thank yous. Spenard Builders Supply has recently made a substantial donation of materials that will allow us to replace the aging decks at Peterson Bay Field Station, a critical need for safe operations. Also, due to a generous donation of materials from the Eastside Carpet Company in Anchorage and labor from the Center for Alaskan Coastal Studies naturalist Addy Walther and her entire family, the field station's ancient linoleum has been replaced by new linoleum and carpeting.
Our fund-raising events for our 20th anniversary fund were supported by donations from many individuals, the Grog Shop and Coal Point Seafoods. Excellent coverage by KBBI and the Homer News contributed greatly to the success of the events.
We appreciate this support and look forward to 20 more years of education, research and stewardship of Kachemak Bay.
Marilyn Sigman, executive director, Center for Alaskan Coastal Studies
