Event organizers say thanks
Last Saturday evening (Oct. 19) at the Bunnell Street Gallery event "Les Chansons de la Nuit," our community had the pleasure of experiencing an incredible performance by local accomplished singers and musicians, and at the same time raising $1,500 for the Homer Skateboard Association. On behalf of the organizing committee for this event, I would like to thank each and every person who showed up for this event, and apologize to those of you we had to turn away. We are truly blessed with the talent and generosity that abounds in our town.

With much gratitude going to the performers of this event, I would like to specifically thank the organizations that helped make this event a success: Kenai Peninsula Orchestra, Bunnell Street Gallery, KBBI, Boys and Girls Club of Homer, PFLAG of Soldotna and Homer, Fritz Creek General Store, Two Sisters' Bakery, Loopy Lupine Recycled Products, John's Corner Market, and Family Solutions.

I believe that leaves $4,500 that the Homer Skateboard Association still needs to raise to receive their matching Rasmuson grant. I'm sure someone is ready to organize the next fund-raiser will it be you?
