Energy Watch test today

Staff Report

During a scheduled test of Southcentral Alaska's Energy Watch system, the public is asked to practice energy use reduction today from 6-8 p.m. in order to gauge how much natural gas can be saved through conservation efforts.

Natural gas conservation measures include turning down the thermostat, limiting use of appliances that use natural gas, postponing doing laundry and dishes, using the mircrowave for cooking, and consolidating household activities to as few rooms as possible.

The Energy Watch plan is a collaborative effort between the Municipality of Anchorage, the Kenai Peninsula Borough, the Matanuska-Susitna Borough, and regional utility organizations.
