Homer Alaska - Letters -

Story last updated at 7:14 PM on Wednesday, October 29, 2008

Another question about gas prices

In light of the story regarding gas prices, I have a question. Why are the prices in Fritz Creek (a Tesoro station) the same as in Homer. The sales tax in Fritz Creek is only 3 percent therefore based on $4.05 price tag in Homer the price of gas in Fritz Creek should be $3.88 per gallon, all else being equal. Tack on another 5 cents per gallon to transport it the distant eight miles and that still only brings it up to $3.93. Where is the other money going?
