At 6:30 p.m. Nov. 7 for the Fall Public Lecture Series, Brian Partridge presents "The Science of Attachment." Join Partridge to discover more about the parent child bond. He will discuss what current science can tell us about how the bond between a child and caregiver begins and grows through childhood.

At 6:30 p.m. Nov. 21, Cathy Stingley, Clinical Director for HANDLE of Homer, presents "Why the Label Attention Deficit is Incorrect." The talk will provide a different perspective on attentional issues experienced by children and adults. Consideration will be given to what it is that happens when someone is not attending or seems to not be attending. Could it be that some people cannot look and listen at the same time? Could it be that some people who appear to not be listening are indeed hearing us and processing that information?

Degree-seeking students may call 235-7743 for advising appointments, or see www.homer.alaska.edu. The KBC Community Advisory Board has openings; call 235-1656 for information.
