Best Beginnings, Haven House and Birth 2 Three sponsor Stronger Together, community training offered by Strengthening Families. The training is 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Friday and 8:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday in the Marine Pilot's building on Ocean Drive. To register, call Birth 2 Three at 235-6044. Lunch is provided.

The Alcoholics Anonymous 9 a.m. breakfast club meeting is every Saturday at New Life Tabernacle Church, the blue church uphill from Fritz Creek Store on East End Road. Bring something to eat. For information, call Clint, 235-7120.

Christ Lutheran Church in Soldotna holds its Annual Lutefisk and Lefse Dinner from 5-7 p.m. Nov. 7. The church is located at Mile .25 Kenai Spur Highway in Soldotna. Call 262-4757 for more information.

The Kachemak Bay Shorebird Festival seeks festival committee members to plan the 20th anniversary event, May 10-13, 2012. Birding skills are not required. Contact the festival coordinator at shorebirdster@gmail.com or 235-7740.

Chapman School holds its Halloween Carnival from 6-8 p.m. Friday with lots of games and prizes. Game tickets can be purchased at the door. There will be a raffle drawing as well as a silent auction. Tickets can be purchased at the Chapman office or at the carnival; proceeds benefit the eighth grade graduation.

Living with Multiple Sclerosis is a free educational event coming to Homer and open to people with multiple sclerosis or who are impacted by MS. Mo Hillstrand, a neurology nurse practitioner from Anchorage, will present it. This event will be held tonight at the South Peninsula Hospital Training Center. Registration is at 6:15 p.m.; a dinner and presentation will follow from 6:30-7:45 p.m. Dinner will be provided and catered by Fat Olives Restaurant.
