Perspective changes ones outlook

An early mentor told me if you dont make a mistake, thats how Ill know youre not doing anything. I had the privilege of interviewing a former Army soldier the other day; he is now a very successful businessman.

He said, You know, an advantage I have over other people in my line of work is perspective. You hear people say they are stressed or their having a bad day. Friend, on the battle field Ive been stressed, and Ive seen bad days.

Its all about perspective. Making mistakes is living. Learning from the mistakes you make is living well. Accepting personal responsibility for the consequence of that mistake is mastery.

Honesty is the hallmark of happiness. It starts with being honest with yourself. Live your life each day as though it may be your last. And as Og Mandino said, Treat everyone you meet as though they will be gone at midnight for all you know they might.

It takes real honor, integrity and courage to accept responsibility for what youve done, or what you didnt do when you should have.

Today, and for the rest of your life, be your brothers keeper.

Wishing you health, wealth and happiness,

Chris Story
