Troopers, Legion thanked
The rhythmic pounding of feet, pucks and basketballs are now heard sounding in our first-rate gym due to the combined efforts of the Fraternal Order of Alaska State Troopers and Homer's own American Legion Post 16, the Sons of the American Legion and the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion. A heartfelt "thank you" for their monumental support for our club, in general, and our new athletics program, in particular.

Because of FOAST and Legion generous donations, we were able to begin an early-afternoon physical education program for those children not in the public school systems, and after-hours basketball leagues for first through eighth grades. These are experiences that will last our members a lifetime.

We would also like to take this opportunity to thank the Sons of the Legion for the donation of the beautiful U.S. flag that is proudly displayed in our club. It is a strong symbol of the values we try to instill in all of our club members.
