Three Homer men escaped injury when their plane flipped upside down and crashed on a landing attempt on the McKeon Flats across the bay.

Construction projects worth around $1 million are expected to be in progress by 1983. Some projects include the new Homer High School, South Peninsula Hospital expansion, McNeil Canyon School, and the East End Road and West Hill Road projects.
