Homer City Council to consider a ban on the sale of drug paraphernalia in order to deny future head shops the right to operate in the city. On Jan. 1, 1983, a new law will make it legal for adults to possess up to 4 ounces of marijuana for private use in their home.

Three Homer men escaped injury when their plane flipped upside down and crashed on a landing attempt on the McKeon Flats across the bay.

Construction projects worth around $1 million are expected to be in progress by 1983. Some projects include the new Homer High School, South Peninsula Hospital expansion, McNeil Canyon School, and the East End Road and West Hill Road projects.
