Homer Veterinary Clinic staff would like to thank all those members of the community who participated in our free rabies clinic on World Rabies Day Sept 28. Donations were accepted and matched to support the Global Alliance for Rabies Control for more than $500.

We are fortunate here on the Kenai Peninsula to have limited rabies exposure risk, but want to highlight that worldwide it is estimated that 55,000 people die from rabies annually despite being a preventable disease through both human and animal vaccination programs.
