Bay Club's Zumbathon honors cancer survivors




The second annual Zumbathon is being held at the Bay Club from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday. All cancer survivors are invited, encouraged and welcome to attend.

The local business community has donated gifts for all those who have battled cancer. Refreshments, door prizes, hourly drawings, great music and dancing are part of the fun. The day's grand prizes include round-trip tickets to Anchorage with Grant Aviation and a one-night stay in a bay-view room at Land's End Resort.

The event begins with a 30-minute demonstration of Zumba Gold at 10 a.m. for beginners or seniors interested in low-impact Zumba. Zumbathon feature a rotation of local and visiting Zumba instructors, each one showcasing a personal flare and style. From 2-3 p.m. is an opportunity to try Aqua Zumba, swimsuits and towels needed.

The Bay Club also is offering a special Zumbathon membership sale for November.

Admission to Saturday's event is $10 per person; 100 percent of all funds collected will be donated to the American Cancer Society and the Susan G. Komen fund for breast cancer research.
