Sea Otters tops at Ninilchik

Seldovia's Susan B. English School volleyball team, traveling with only six players, won the Ninilchik Tournament over the weekend, rolling through the Region IIA field and finishing with a 15-3, 15-5 win over Kenny Lake.

The Sea Otters also defeated Nenana 15-2, 15-1 and beat Tok 15-8, 15-7.

"One small advantage of having only six on the team is the girls always know who is on the court and what to expect out of each position," said coach Ila Dillon.

Dillon said the Sea Otters' play was anchored by the setting skills of Paula Fernandes and the net play of Amelia Dillon and Jaime Geagel. All-tournament team medals were awarded to Dillon and Fernandes.
