This self-perpetuating board is responsible to and only answers to themselves. This alone can lead to very bad decisions perpetuated by someone with an axe to grind.

The hospital service area board is an elected board and must answer to the electorate. Having two boards for one entity is counterproductive and ridiculous. The time is long past due when these boards should be combined and all members elected.
