Orson Lynn Broadbent

Orson Lynn Broadbent of Homer passed away Sept. 29, 2011 in Firth, Idaho, at the home of his daughter, after a short illness.

Lynn was born Oct. 21, 1948, in Salmon, Idaho, to Orson and Donna Broadbent. On Feb. 11, 1972, Lynn married Jackie Jacobson and they spent most of their life in Firth, Idaho. They had two daughters, Wendi Lane (Jim, Virginia) and Ruthan Killian (Darren, Firth). After Jackie's death, Lynn met Carol Robinson. They were married April 10, 2004, and Lynn was excited to add three children into his life: Camielle Alleman (Matt, North Carolina), Michelle High (Jordan, Firth) and Shea Robinson Broadbent (Madilyn, Homer).

Lynn and Carol and Shea made their home in Homer. He was extremely excited to finally have a son and was a very dedicated father to Shea and to all of his friends. He loved to travel and enjoy nature and was a friend to all. He loved Alaska.He loved the people, the scenery, the wildlife and especially the ocean. He made daily trips to the beach with his trusty Lab, Suzie.

Lynn was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He served in many callings and enjoyed them all, especially the ones involving the youth.

Lynn is survived by his wife Carol of Homer, five children, 17 grandchildren, including two to be born this spring, two brothers, one sister and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Oct. 4, 2011, in Firth, Idaho, with internment in the Firth Cemetery. Carol and Shea would like to invite family and friends to join them Thursday, Oct. 13, 2011, from 7-8:30 for a memorial open house at the LDS Church located at 2781 East End Road, Homer.
