Cook Inlet risk assessment panel to meet Oct. 20

The first meeting of the Cook Inlet Risk Assessment Advisory Panel is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Oct. 20 at the University of Alaska Anchorage in the Edward Lee Gorsuch Commons, Room 106 (on Sharon Gagnon Lane).

The public meeting will open with a welcome and keynote address by Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation Commissioner Larry Hartig. The advisory panel's approved work plan will be presented by Project Manager Tim Robertson of Nuka Research, followed by an overview of the risk assessment process from Dr. John Harrall, subject matter expert for the advisory panel. W. David Eley of Cape International Inc. of Juneau will present the Vessel Traffic Study, with discussion and public comment following.

Final comments from the management team will bring the meeting to a close at approximately 5 p.m.

In other CIRA news, J.R. Wilcox, representing the oil platform/mobile offshore drilling unit stakeholder group, has been named as an alternate member of the advisory panel.
