City billed for water, taxes
I am sending the city of Homer two bills. The first is for $8,216.34 to reimburse me for all the water I have paid them for in the last 25 years, and the second is for $3l,175.19 to pay me back for all the in-city property taxes I've paid since l983. I'm really a very patient and reasonable person. For the last three years, I've insisted that I do buy the water and that I do pay the taxes. The mayor, city manager and sitting city council keep insisting that I'm wrong -- that they "give" me water and that I do not pay property taxes. One of us is not telling the truth. I have receipts from the borough tax people and the water deliveryman. All they have is the claim of their tax-and-spend propaganda machine.
