What do the candidates think?

The assignment: Candidates for Kenai Peninsula Borough Mayor and the District 8 seat for the Kenai Peninsula Borough Assembly were invited to submit a 500-word guest column. Candidates were given free rein to write about what they thought was most important.

Candidate for Homer City Council, 2 to be elected

Editor's Note: Candidate David Lewis chose not to write a column. His candidate's statement from the Kenai Peninsula Borough Voter Information Pamphlet is reprinted here.

I have been a resident of Homer for 22 years and feel that Homer is a good place to raise a family. Some people feel that a city should just provide basic services; I believe that Homer is a community not just a city and should provide more than basic services as long as we are all willing to pay for those services.
