Carol Mae Hagglund
Carol Mae Hagglund, 61, died Sept. 16, 2002, of pancreatic cancer in the University Medical Center-Mesabi, Hibbing, Minn.

Ms. Hagglund was born June 24, 1941, in Virginia, Minn., to Harry and Mayme (Mickelson) Hagglund. She graduated from Alango High School and later received her bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Alaska Fairbanks. She was employed for 37 years with the federal government and recently retired from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service in Homer. Ms. Hagglund lived in Alaska for over 30 years. After becoming ill, she moved to Superior, Mont., for a year and a half. A skilled photographer, she received recognition for some of her Alaska scenic and wildlife photos. She enjoyed the outdoors, travel and her many friends and family.

Ms. Hagglund is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Karl and Lana Hagglund, brother Ken Hagglund, all of St. Paul, sisters and brothers-in-law Martha and Art Lindgren of Virginia, Minn., Eileen and Mike O'Malley of Superior, Mont., and Karen Hagglund of Missoula, Mont., as well as nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Mayme Hagglund. At her request, no services were held. Memorials can be made to the charity of choice.

Arrangements were by the Dougherty Funeral Home, Hibbing.
