Lost pounds convert to good causes
I would like to thank my fellow Weight Watcher members in Homer for their commitment to the Weight Watchers' national Lose for Good campaign. Homer's group joins Weight Watcher groups nationwide in September and into October, converting pounds lost into dollars, up to $1 million, which will be donated to two national hunger relief organizations. We take weekly donations of foods from our pantries and gardens to Homer Food Pantry as well, helping neighbors and friends. Last week, 80 pounds; this week, 150-plus pounds, and we will continue until Oct. 15. This is a yearly win-win opportunity.
