"Better Choices, Better Health . . . Living Well Alaska Training" is offered. South Peninsula Hospital offers a series of six, two-hour classes to help people with long term health conditions learn ways to feel better and be less limited by their illness. People with all kinds of long term conditions such as arthritis, asthma, diabetes, heart disease, and other illnesses can benefit. A spouse, family member, or friend is welcome to attend the classes with participants.

Co-leaders, Mary Fries, RN, Community Health Educator, and Pene Anderson, class facilitator, use a peer empowerment model to help participants manage symptoms, identify and reach personal health goals, and get more out of life.

"The Living Well Alaska Training" is offered 6-830 p.m. Tuesdays, Oct. 4 through Nov. 8, at the hospital's Training Center at 203 Pioneer Ave. The cost is $10 for the six-week session. Registration is required and can be done by calling 235-0258.
