Police at 4:22 p.m. issued a warning to a driver for parking in a critical habitat area at Bishops Beach. A woman at 3 p.m. reported a backpack was stolen. A caller at 9:27 p.m. reported excessive noise and firecrackers being fired in the Bishops Beach area. Police responded and warned several people about ordinances prohibiting the use of fireworks on the Kenai Peninsula. A caller at 11:05 p.m. reported a car speeding through a camping area. Sept. 11 A caller at 7:55 a.m. reported a driver in a white van passed 12 cars heading west into Homer. A caller at 11:15 a.m. reported cash stolen from her pocketbook. A caller at 3:38 p.m. reported a hit-and-run of a vessel in the Homer Harbor. A caller at 3:25 p.m. reported a domestic violence assault at a Jakolof Road address. Police advised the Seldovia Police Department. A hospital worker at 5 p.m. reported a domestic violence assault. A man at 11:01 p.m. reported a man tampering with his car parked on the Spit. Police responded and escorted the suspect home. Sept. 12 A woman at 9:14 a.m. turned in drug paraphernalia found at a Compass Drive address. Four callers between 9:27 a.m. and 10:15 a.m. reported finding graffiti at buildings on Pioneer Avenue. A caller at 11:43 a.m. reported a person who made a suicide attempt being driven south on the Sterling Highway toward South Peninsula Hospital. Police contacted the parties involved at the hospital. A caller at 1:08 p.m. reported finding graffiti on the wall of the Homer Chamber of Commerce and Visitor Center. A caller at 1:40 p.m. asked police to do a welfare check on a man who might be using meth. Police responded and found the man to be OK. A caller at 3 p.m. reported finding charcoal next to a dead tree on his Cozy Cove Drive property. A woman at 6:45 p.m. reported items taken from her home in an ongoing civil dispute. Sept. 13 Police at 1:31 a.m. assisted EMTs with a call at a Homer Spit address. A caller at 8:11 a.m. reported a vehicle in the ditch and a man with slurred speech off Early Spring Street. Police responded and did not find any driving under the influence. A man at 9:27 a.m. reported items stolen from cars and boat on the Spit. A caller at 12:52 p.m. reported a death at home of a 77-year-old woman. Police at 10:59 p.m. contacted an apparent unoccupied car with its lights on parked on Ocean Drive. An officer found a man sleeping in the back who had permission to be on the property. Sept. 14 A caller at 2:11 a.m. reported a drunk woman at a local hotel. Police responded and took the woman to the hospital for medical treatment. A caller at 8:27 a.m. reported a stolen car. Another caller later reported the car had been left at a local bar the night before. A caller at 3:14 p.m. reported an 81-year-old man died at his Race Road home. A caller at 3:34 p.m. reported a possibly drunk man bothering wildlife in the Ben Walters Lane area. Police could not find the man. A caller at 3:51 p.m. reported graffiti at a West Bunnell Avenue business. Police at 9:16 p.m. made a traffic stop on a 42-year-old woman driving on Pioneer Avenue. They arrested her for felony DUI, driving while license revoked and an outstanding warrant. Police at 11:30 p.m. made a traffic stop on a 21-year-old man driving near Mile 169.5 Sterling Highway and issued him a citation for not having a valid operators license. Sept. 15 Police at 12:37 a.m. made a traffic stop on a 65-year-old man on East End Road. They arrested him for DUI, refusal to submit to a chemical test and driving while license revoked. A caller at 4:26 a.m. reported a car left running for a long time outside a Main Street home. Police contacted a man in the car who agreed to leave. A caller at 2:12 p.m. reported a car in the ditch on West Hill Road. Police responded and arrested a 25-year-old man for DUI and driving while license revoked. Sept. 16 A caller at 10:36 a.m. reported a stray ferret on Fairview Avenue. Police notified the animal control officer. A man at 12:23 p.m. reported a Horizon Court home had been broken into. Sept. 17 A caller from out of the area at 3:29 a.m. made suicidal statements. Police notified Alaska State Troopers. Police at 10:23 a.m. served a search warrant at a Sterling Highwy address. A school nurse at 12:33 p.m. requested drug information. A woman at 12:31 p.m. reported losing her wedding ring in the Homer area. A caller at 2:17 p.m. reported an attempted burglary at an Ocean Drive address. A man at 3:55 p.m. reported a hit-and-run accident at a Pioneer Avenue parking lot. Police at 3 p.m. recovered a stolen firearm from a local gun dealer.
