Firefighters and emergency medical technicians went to six medical calls and two fire calls.

Sept. 13

Firefighters at 3:53 p.m. went to a report of smoke coming from an apartment on Fairview Avenue. Upon arrival firefighters found a resident had put out a cooking fire. Crews checked to make sure the fire had not spread.

Sept. 15

Firefighters at 2:17 p.m. went to a wooded area off the Sterling Highway near the Alaska Islands and Ocean Visitor Center and put out a smoldering fire in the roots of a tree.
