2012 Permanent Fund Dividend: $878




The Alaska Department of Revenue Commissioner Bryan Butcher announced Tuesday that an estimated 646,806 eligible Alaskans will receive a 2012 Permanent Fund Dividend in the amount of $878. The department reports 677,733 Alaskans have applied for the dividend, an increase of 1,500 applications compared to 2011. The first dividends will be paid Oct. 4, when approximately 515,000 applicants will receive a direct deposit into their bank account; 85,000 will be mailed a check. The paper check delivery will enter the mail stream Oct. 4 in Juneau; actual delivery time varies by applicant location. This marks the 31st year Alaskans have received a dividend.
