Kenai Peninsula Borough SChool District


Sept. 30: Site council and parent group (PTA, PTSA, PTO, PAC, etc.) training, 9 a.m.-noon, Soldotna.

Oct. 17: School board meeting, 7 p.m., Soldotna.

Oct. 21: No school, inservice, end of first quarter.

Chapman School

Today: Soccer, Nikiski at Chapman, 4 p.m.

Sept. 20: Soccer, Cook Inlet Academy at Chapman, 3:30 p.m.

Sept. 26: Picture day.

Sept. 27: HEA community barbecue, 5 p.m.

Sept. 29: Free developmental vision and hearing screenings; infants, toddlers preschoolers to age 5; 9 a.m.-3 p.m.; for appointment, call 235-8671.

Oct. 27-28: Parent-teacher conferences. No classes.


Oct. 25: Connections students and parents are invited to the second annual Kenai College Fair, 10 a.m.-1 p.m., Old Carr's Mall, Kenai. More than 50 colleges and universities will be represented. For more information, contact your adviser.

Homer High School

An after-school study hall is available every day after school in room B-101.

Sept. 27: First round Borough Soccer Tournament.

McNeil Canyon Elementary School

Volunteer opportunities: Being a "Magic Marker" for the Mileage Club; serving as a Community Council officer; serving as a room representative.

Sept. 24: Homer High School homecoming parade with McNeil Canyon's parade dragon at half-time. Students carry/wear the dragon in the parade. The game begins at 3 p.m.

Sept. 28: Free developmental motor skills, speech, early learning concepts, vision and hearing screening; newborn through age 5; call 235-6044 for appointment.

Paul Banks Elementary School
