Troopers




Sept. 5

Alaska State Troopers at 4 p.m. contacted a 55-year-old Anchor Point man regarding an ongoing theft investigation. Troopers allege the man came into possession in August of a chainsaw worth more than $900 that had been reported stolen and he pawned it at a Homer pawn shop. Troopers arrested the man for theft by receiving.

Sept. 6

Troopers at 7 p.m. went to Nikolaevsk home for a report of a disturbance. Troopers allege a 20-year-old Nikolaevsk man injured a woman and then fled on foot. Efforts to locate him have been unsuccessful. Troopers requested an arrest warrant on charges of fourth-degree assault.

Troopers at 2:45 p.m. contacted a 19-year-old Nanwalek man regarding an assault on a family member. Troopers arrested him for fourth-degree assault and took him to the Homer Jail.

Sept. 7

Troopers at 9 p.m. contacted a 62-year-old Ninilchik man at his home and arrested him on a warrant for fourth-degree assault. Troopers allege while driving in his green Ford truck on Oilwell Road in Ninilchik the man intentionally swerved toward two other men, causing them to fear for their safety. The men were not injured.

Troopers at 1:30 p.m. went to a "report every drunk driver immediately" complaint of a person driving on East End Road. Troopers stopped the suspect, a 22-year-old Homer man, near Fernwood Drive. Troopers allege the man possessed narcotics and tried to tamper with evidence after being told he was under arrest. The man also resisted arrest until a trooper told the man he would be pepper sprayed. Troopers arrested the man on charges of fourth-degree misconduct involving a controlled substance, tampering with physical evidence, both felonies, and resisting arrest.

Sept. 9

Troopers at 11:17 a.m. went to an Old Sterling Highway home to assist a probation officer with an investigation. Troopers allege they found a large quantity of suspected narcotics. The evidence was sent to the state crime lab for analysis. The investigation continues.

Sept. 10

Troopers at 10:37 p.m. made a traffic stop on a 42-year-old Homer woman in Homer. They arrested her for driving under the influence.

Troopers at 4:30 p.m. contacted a 28-year-old Anchor Point man during an investigation and allege he possessed several marijuana plants. The man also had an outstanding warrant. Troopers arrested the man.
