Aug. 23

Homer Fish and Wildlife Protection troopers cited a 49-year-old Ninilchik man for taking a cow moose from Game Management Unit 15 when the season is only open for bull moose.

Aug. 24

Homer FWP troopers cited a 49-year-old Ninilchik man for taking a sublegal moose near Caribou Lake.

Aug. 25

Troopers at 5:45 p.m. received a report of a burglary at a Greg Court residence in Anchor Point that happened sometime between 8 a.m. and 11 a.m. The thieves took a box of ammunition and caused more than $100 in damages to the residence door.

Aug. 26

Troopers at 7:15 a.m. received a report of a burglary at a Cottonfield Road residence in Anchor Point on Aug. 25. The thieves took an undisclosed amount of cash. If anyone has any information regarding this incident or other burglaries, please contact the Alaska State Troopers in Homer at 235-8239.

Troopers at 12:10 a.m. contacted a 45-year-old Anchor Point man on Alpine Meadows Road. They allege he had an outstanding $1,000 warrant on an original charge of driving while intoxicated. Troopers arrested the man.

Aug. 27

Troopers at 4:30 p.m. received a report that a 91-year-old Homer woman had died of natural causes at home.

Troopers at 6:42 p.m. went to a vehicle accident at Fritz Creek store on East End Road. They allege a 31-year-old Homer woman driving a 1989 Nissan truck and pulling a trailer struck a parked 2000 Chevrolet truck with the trailer. Police arrested her for DWI.

Aug. 28

A woman at 10:49 a.m. reported someone spray-painted her Nikolaevsk business sign blue and caused about $100 in damage.

Aug. 29

A woman at 9 a.m. reported someone broke into a Ninilchik auto parts store and stole tools and cash worth about $500. Investigation is continuing.
