Aug. 26

A man at 4:28 p.m. reported a drunk man who would not leave a Pioneer Avenue restaurant. Police warned the 50-year-old man not to return. When he returned a while later, police arrested him for trespassing.

A person at 10:16 p.m. reported two fishing poles left at the cleaning tables at the Fishing Hole.

Police at 10:50 p.m. arrested a 41-year-old man for felony driving while intoxicated and driving while license revoked after stopping him for speeding at Mile 2 Spit Road. Police also arrested the man for refusal to provide a breath sample.

Aug. 27

A woman at midnight reported a loud party at a neighboring apartment on Main Street and that this has been an ongoing problem. Police contacted the suspects and determined the noise level was not unreasonable.

Police at 9:53 p.m. and 11:41 p.m. summonsed a 29-year-old man and a 52-year-old man for failure to provide proof of insurance.

Police received at 12:07 p.m. a report of a man driving a Toyota pickup in the critical habitat area of Beluga Slough.

A man at 4:58 p.m. reported his 6-year-old child was threatened by a brown and white pit bull dog running loose and dragging a rope on Rochelle Road near Mark White Avenue.

A person at 6:46 p.m. reported an intrusion alarm at a Lake Street building. Police responded and found the building secure. The owner said a bat flying around in the building has been setting off the alarm.

Police at 7:13 p.m. saw a woman known to them not to have a valid license driving a black Ford Escort. Police stopped the 20-year-old woman on Svedlund Avenue and charged her with driving while license suspended, revoked or cancelled.

A woman at 10:40 a.m. reported that sometime the night before someone stole her wallet from her shopping basket at Eagle Quality Center.

Police at 10:55 p.m. received a report of an intoxicated man standing outside a Spit Road restaurant and yelling at patrons.

Aug. 28

The Valdez police department at 8:08 a.m. asked Homer police to serve a summons on a Homer person.

Aug. 29

A man at 7:09 p.m. reported a driver in a pickup truck hit his Pioneer Avenue building. Police arrested two juveniles for driving while license revoked, action of operator following an accident and permitting an unauthorized person to drive.

Aug. 30

A woman at 1:28 a.m. reported someone broke into her Spit Road business.

A woman at 9:30 a.m. reported she believed her phone is being tapped. She had reported her suspicions to the phone company.

Police at 2:53 p.m. received a report of a vehicle collision at Main Street and Pioneer Avenue and that one driver might have a head injury.

A woman at 4:54 p.m. reported three four-wheelers racing on the Beluga Slough. Police responded and found one four-wheeler stuck. They warned the ATV drivers.

A man at 7:53 p.m. reported an intoxicated man sitting at the top of Ramp 1 at the harbor and yelling.

Police at 8:27 p.m. warned a man for feeding sea lions at the harbor.

Aug. 31

A man at 2:07 a.m. made a 911 report that a person banged on his door and window at his Ben Walters Lane home saying he wanted to fight. Police arrested a 20-year-old man for minor consuming or possessing alcohol.

A man at 4:15 p.m. reported someone broke into his Danview Avenue apartment through a window.

A person at 6:59 p.m. reported a man and woman hitchhiking on West Pioneer Avenue and throwing rocks at cars.

Police at 11:07 p.m. contacted three boys playing in the street on Pioneer Avenue. They advised the boys to move.

Sept. 1

Police at 2:13 a.m. received a report of an intoxicated person in the foyer of a Herndon Street building. The caller asked police to remove him. Police picked up the man and took him to the United Methodist Church for the night.

A woman at 4:25 p.m. reported seeing a man take money from the tip jar at a Spit Road business.

A woman at 8:06 p.m. reported a man lying on the side of the road near Soundview and the Sterling Highway. Police contacted the man. He said he was just waiting for a ride.

Police at 10:26 p.m. contacted juveniles at Karen Hornaday Park and found them to be in possession of marijuana.

Sept. 2

A person at 1:46 a.m. reported boys tearing down signs on Pioneer Avenue near Woodside Avenue.

Police at 4:53 a.m. arrested a 35-year-old woman on Pioneer Avenue for driving while intoxicated.

A 911 caller at 5:30 a.m. reported a vehicle accident on the Spit Road.
