Setian ran the 13.1-mile course in a solid 1 hour, 25 minutes, 24 seconds, edging runner-up Randy Weist by just under five minutes.
One day after posting an age-group win in the Homer Ironman Triathlon, Jane Wiebe was the top woman in the half marathon. Wiebe posted a time of 1:32:56, finishing just ahead of Kris Kuss (1:33:05) of Delaware. Kuss passed Wiebe with about a mile left in the race only to have the home-town favorite pass her back as the two runners neared the finish line.
Dylan Anderson of the Homer High School cross country team placed a respectable sixth, finishing in 1:33:29.
A field of 43 runners finished the race, which took competitors from the Homer High School to the end of the Homer Spit and back. All proceeds from the race will benefit the Homer Foundation.
