Homer Alaska - Letters -

Story last updated at 6:38 PM on Wednesday, September 3, 2008

Another success for KPO

Champagne, Chocolate & Chopin La Tutka, featuring the Madison String Quartet, was a success again this year. This is the biggestfund-raiser of the year for the Kenai Peninsula Orchestra and many local businesses donate generously of their goods and services.

Jon and Nelda Osgood are always our gracious hosts, allowing us the use of the deck at beautiful Tutka Bay Lodge. Bay Excursions, Rainbow Tours, Herring Island Haulers and Homer Ocean Charters provided transportation to the lodge while the Grog Shop, Latitude 59, Maura's Caf and Deli, Anchor Point Seafoods, Fresh Sourdough Express Bakery, Fritz Creek General Store/Bakery, Two Sisters Bakery, Safeway and Save-U-More contributed to the refreshments. Fresh fish were provided by Cris Somers-Fry and Peggy and Michael Craig and fresh flowers by Brigitte's Bavarian B and B and Shirley Forquer.

Thank you all for helping to make this magical event possible once again.

Margaret Quarton
