Alsocalled "Preacher Dave," Mr. Davis was known to many in Homer as the old man with the white beard and knapsack frequently seen downtown. He was born March 13, 1924, in Meadville, Penn.

Mr. Davis was preceded in death by his wife, Della Rose Arville Shipton Davis, and son, Noel C. Davis. He is survived by his children, Leon A. Davis, Nola L. Davis Shaffer, Ethan U. Davis, Loren J. Davis, Eula C. Davis and Orren A. Davis; about 20 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
